Republic of Korea Navy Cruise Training Task Group arrived at the Chennai Port on Friday

The Republic of Korea Navy Cruise Training Task Group arrived at the Chennai Port on Friday on two ships, to a resounding greeting from the locals, especially the Korean community in Chennai.

In two ships, the ROKS Hansando (training ship) and the ROKS Hwacheon (combat support ship), about 460 sailors—150 of whom were midshipmen from the 78th class of the Republic of Korea Naval Academy—arrived at the city port as the 11th port of call to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between India and the Republic of Korea and the 70th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice.

"India and Korea will share regional security and prosperity as major partners of the Indo-Pacific strategy for peace and prosperity," declared Chang-nyun Kim, the Consul-General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai. I hope that the different forms of collaboration and the bilateral connections will grow even stronger. The largest foreign medical assistance force was sent by India during the Korean War, according to Rear Admiral Chung-Ho Cho, Commander of the Cruise Training Task Group. "The Republic of Korea could heal from the wounds of war and grow into one of the global pivotal countries with the warm-hearted India extended," he stated.
