NewsThe Puducherry government introduced technology-driven online apps on Wednesday for the efficient execution of welfare and development activities. The programmes, which include Unified Data Hub 2.0, Call Before u Dig (CBuD), KINETICS, e-Office, and 5G Futuristic Puducherry, were jointly launched by Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy at a ceremony held at a luxury hotel here. The Puducherry e-Governance Society and the Directorate of Information Technology developed the concepts for these apps. The Unified Data Hub, CBuD, and e-Office are the three that are most crucial.
The Unified Data Hub aids the government in identifying actual beneficiaries, according to a memo distributed by the Department of Information Technology. A uniform platform will be available for departments to cross-reference data. The CBuD promotes minimising or avoiding harm to subterranean resources and will aid in greater government agency collaboration before excavating roads for diverse objectives. According to the memo, the e-Office programme will aid in the electronic processing of government documents. It was declared on this occasion, that a Fintech City will be developed in Puducherry. Also mentioned was the formation of an expert steering group to formalise the city's establishment plan.
Mr. Rangasamy objected to the execution of projects moving slowly at the time. He said that official level programme implementation was sluggish and that even assistance initiatives introduced only last month had not reached their target recipients. "The government starts social measures for the people's benefit. There is little use in introducing initiatives if the beneficiaries are not receiving them on time, he continued. Ms. Soundararajan urged authorities to embrace technology to expedite the rollout of schemes for development and welfare. She said that the processing of data electronically will enable greater oversight of government initiatives.
