Priority section of Indias first Rapid rail line- RAPIDX may become operational by next week

NewsThe priority part of India's first Rapid rail line, also known as RAPIDX, may become operational, by next week, meaning that it will only take around 12 minutes to travel the 20 km (which is typically more than 35 minutes) from Sahibabad to Duhai. According to sources, the first section of the 82-kilometer Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor may be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to officials, the first phase would see the operationalization of five stations, spanning a distance of 17 km: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot. Moreover, officials stated that a single rapid rail car will hold 1,700 passengers and that ten trains in all will run on the designated route.
The RAPIDX station in Sahibabad will be inspected by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his visit to Ghaziabad on Thursday. The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project is being implemented throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), and representatives from NCRTC, which oversees carrying it out, will brief the CM on the specifics of RAPIDX operations.
DM Rakesh Kumar Singh, Mayor Sunita Dayal, Municipal Commissioner Nitin Gaud, Ghaziabad MP, and retired General VK Singh, Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways and Civil Aviation, visited the station on Tuesday to assess the state of the preparations.
The full length of the RRTS priority section will be covered at a maximum operating speed of 160 kmph, making it the first railway system in the nation to open for business. According to authorities, it will guarantee commuters quick, safe, and comfortable regional transportation service.
