Poompuhar has organised a 15-day Festival of Crafts exhibition in Coimbatore from June 30

NewsPoompuhar, the retail arm of the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation, has hosted a 15-day "Festival of Crafts" exhibition in Coimbatore beginning Friday (June 30).
The emphasis this year, according to C. Ronald Selvestin, manager of Poompuhar here, is on brass and wooden products. "Every year, the festival is held, and the art works of artisans from Coimbatore and other parts of the state are displayed." Since the festival season begins next month, there will be various brass things utilised for worship and prayers. Wooden toys, including ones created by a Peruvian craftsman, will be on show. Gift goods such as jewellery boxes and white metal articles are available. The majority of the things displayed are available at the showroom. Customers will be able to select from a variety of sizes," he explained.
The Poompuhar store is undergoing renovations, which are expected to be finished by the end of August.
