PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate a three-day international museum exhibition in New Delhi on May 18

According to Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would open a three-day international museum exhibition in the nation's capital, New Delhi on May 18.

International Museum Day, which falls on May 18, will also be commemorated during the festivities, which take place from May 18 to May 20.

The celebration will take place in Pragati Maidan in the nation's capital as the second part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The subject for this year has been chosen by the International Council of Museums as "Museums, Sustainability & Well-Being."

According to Mugdha Sinha, joint secretary of, Ministry of Culture, the expo's mascot will be revealed during the opening ceremony along with a graphic novel on museums, a directory of Indian museums, a pocket map of Kartavya Path, and a deck of 75 cards on various museums in India.

In addition, PM Modi will unveil a virtual tour offering a sneak preview of the future National Museum in North Block and South Block.

The ministry, in collaboration with the Mumbai-based Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, has created a "museum on wheels" for the event.

 According to organizers, the bus will also tour the National Capital Region (NCR), bringing the public closer to museums.

On the day of the inauguration, 'Indian Museum Tycoon,' a 12-level app-based video game, will also go on sale for both the Android and iOS operating systems.
