PM Narendra Modi is set to flag off nine new Vande Bharat train routes on September 24

Nine new Vande Bharat railway routes will be officially opened, on September 24, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Eight coaches will be present on each of these nine trains.  The new routes which include a second Vande Bharat train for Kerala will run from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram, Jaipur to Udaipur, Vijayawada to Chennai, Tirunelveli to Chennai, Jamnagar to Ahmedabad, Ranchi to Howrah, Secunderabad (Kacheguda) to Bengaluru (Yesvantpur), Rourkela to Puri and Patna to Howrah.

The new trains' introduction will bring the total number of Vande Bharat routes to 32.

The second Vande Bharat in Kerala will travel through Alappuzha or Alleppey whereas the first one in Kerala travels through Kottayam. According to statistics acquired for the months of April to July, a second Vande Bharat has been added to the route since it has a 177% occupancy rate. Other famous lines that had full occupancy during the time were Vishakhapatnam to Secunderabad, Mumbai to Ahmedabad, Mumbai to Solapur, Patna to Ranchi, Varanasi to Delhi, Delhi to Katra, and Delhi to Dehradun.

The new Vande Bharat trains are coloured saffron and grey, a departure from the traditional white and blue livery.

The new services will contribute to better connections between various States. For instance, a Vande Bharat train already runs from Jodhpur to Ahmedabad while a service from Jamnagar to Ahmedabad is being introduced. While new routes from Chennai to Vijayawada and Tirunelveli are being introduced, popular routes from Chennai to Mysuru and Coimbatore already exist. Between April and July, occupancy on the Chennai to Mysuru route was 77%, while it was 98% on the Chennai to Coimbatore line.
