PM Narendra Modi arrived in Dubai ahead of the COP28 Summit

Ahead of the COP28 Summit in Dubai on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his excitement for significant discussions and partnerships aimed at achieving sustainability. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres gave Modi a warm greeting at the location. Modi responded to the cordial welcome from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Mohamed Bin Zayed in a post on X.

From Thursday until December 12, the 28th iteration of the climate change conference will take place. According to authorities, during his roughly 21-hour stay in Dubai, Modi would participate in two special projects on climate change, hold seven bilateral meetings, and give four speeches.

The Indian community in Dubai greeted Modi, who will attend the World Climate Action Summit for the third time following his travels to Glasgow in 2021 and Paris in 2015.

The primary goals of the agenda are to conclude a stocktaking exercise, evaluate the state of the global climate change effort, and determine how best to support national climate action programmes.
