Passengers travelling by Air India and Alliance Air have to use the T4 terminal at Chennai airport for domestic flights from November 15

NewsFrom November 15 onwards, passengers on domestic flights operated by Air India and Alliance Air will have to utilise the T4 terminal at Chennai airport. There have been modifications as part of the phase II modernization work at Chennai airport, according to officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI), which has been going on for a few years. The international departure flight operations were transferred from the T4 terminal to the new integrated terminal following the opening of a portion of the terminal in July.
Subsequently, the T4 terminal underwent modifications to function as the secondary domestic terminal. "Terminal 4 is now made fully operational to handle domestic flight operations," the AAI stated in a statement on X, the previous Twitter platform. On November 14, two flights operated by AAI at the T4 terminal, AI 550 from Port Blair to Chennai and AI 563 from Chennai to Bengaluru, will undergo testing. According airport authorities, domestic flights operated by Vistara and Air Asia will also relocate to the T4 terminal in the coming weeks. The remaining airlines will go on with business as normal out of the T1 terminal, including IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa, and Go Air.
