Operation cleared for flights connecting Shivamogga with Delhi, Chennai, New Goa, Tirupati, and Hyderabad

Flights between Shivamogga and Delhi, Chennai, New Goa, Tirupati, and Hyderabad have been approved by the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation. B.Y. Raghavendra, a Lok Sabha member from Shivamogga, informed reporters on June 29 that he had requested permission for 11 routes.

On August 11, Indigo will begin flying operations at Shivamogga Airport. "According to the preliminary schedule, the first flight from Bengaluru will arrive in Shivamogga at 11 a.m." "The flight will depart Shivamogga at 1 p.m. and arrive in Bengaluru at 2 p.m. the same day," he added. Because the Shivamogga-Bengaluru route is not covered by the Regional Connecting Scheme (RCS), the State Government has provided the flight operator a subsidy of Rs. 2.5 crore.

The Shivamogga airport cost 450 crore to build. Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated it on February 27. The 3.6-kilometer-long runway can accommodate all sorts of planes.
