NDMC is organising a G20-themed flower festival from Saturday at Central Park, Connaught Place

NewsThe New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is organising a two-day G20-themed flower festival from Saturday at Central Park, Connaught Place, in the national capital. The festival is aimed at highlighting the vibrancy of G20 members and guest countries, said officials.
“The four G20 countries – China, Japan, Singapore and the Netherlands – are participating in the NDMC G20 Flower Festival. The flower plants and any other plants of the guest countries may showcase various varieties of potted plants either locally produced or of their home country,” said an NDMC official.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will also participate in the G20 Flower Festival, where a large variety of seasonal and exclusive flora would be on display, said officials.
The Connaught Place in New Delhi, which is a major tourist and commercial spot, would attract a large number of visitors to the flower show. Flower plants of different colours and varieties will be displayed in different forms and installations so as to showcase the diversity of the Indian subcontinent. The NDMC will also provide space to all participating G20 countries in the festival, officials said.
Horticulture enthusiasts can walk in to enjoy vibrant flowers such as dahlias, bougainvillaea, foliage plants, bonsai, cacti and succulents in pots, and hanging baskets and can purchase their favourite plants, and flowers etc from the stalls. Floral figures, tray garden, and floral arrangements will also be displayed.
The visitors can also enjoy the musical and cultural programmes being organised at the Central Park Amphitheatre, officials said.
The festival will be on from 10 am to 7 pm. Entry will be free. The public can walk in through the gate opposite D Block, officials said.
