National Barista Championship was conducted at the World Coffee Conference 2023

At the World Coffee Conference 2023, a National Barista Championship was held. The competition was intended to honour the most skilled and gifted baristas—those who work in coffee shops and create artistic impressions on the top of beverages—in the country. According to a WCC press release, the competition was committed to supporting talent development, promoting excellence across the whole coffee value chain, and building a healthy café culture in India.

The National Barista Championship 2024 was won by Hrishikesh Mohite of Café' De Meet in the WCC 2023, and the victor would represent India in the World Barista Championship, which would be hosted in South Korea. Female baristas and home brewers were given the opportunity to showcase their talents and coffee brewing expertise through the Women's Star Brewer talents Championship. Priti Pradhan won the Women's Star Brewer Skills Championship.
