The second cruise ship to visit in Mangaluru this cruise season was the Fred Olsen Cruise Lines ship "MS Bolette," which landed at New Mangalore Port on Thursday morning. The ship, flying the flag of the Bahamas and carrying 645 crew members and 704 passengers, pulled into the port next to berth number 4. The final ports of call for the ship were Mormugao Port and Mumbai.
As the cruise guests disembarked from the ship, they were greeted traditionally to the sounds of "Tiger Dance" and "Chende." A number of measures were taken to guarantee that cruise passengers had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. These included medical screenings, numerous immigration and customs counters for quick processing, buses and designated taxis for city transportation, a selfie station provided by the Ministry of Tourism, a meditation centre run by the Ministry of AYUSH, free WiFi, and a Virtual Reality Experience Zone provided by NMPA in the international cruise lounge.
Achal Cashew Factory, Karkala Gomateshwara, Moodbidri Thousand Pillar Basadi, Soans Farm, Kadri Gokarnanatha Temple, St. Alloysius Chapel, and the local markets were among the tourist spots visited by the visitors. Around 5:00 p.m., the ship set sail towards the port of Cochin.
