Mangaluru International Airport commissioned Open Access Fuel Farm and aircraft fuelling facility at the airport

NewsMangaluru International Airport (MIA) on December 16 officially opened its "Open Access" fuel farm and aircraft fueling station. The facility consists of newly constructed greenfield fuel storage built by the airport and the brownfield asset that the MIA acquired from an oil marketing company (OMC) at the airport.
According to a press release issued in Mangaluru on December 17, the Fuel Farm facility is situated next to the former terminal building at Bajpe and spans 5262.57 sq. m. It has six fuel storage tanks with a combined capacity of 970 KL.
The first aircraft using the Open Access system, IndiGo flight 6e554, which arrived from Mumbai in the wee hours of December 17, was refuelled by bowsers at the airport fuel farm. To commemorate the milestone, Pankaj Agrawal, Business Head (Fuel Farm), Adani Airport Holdings Ltd., and Srikanth Tata, Head (Operations), MIA, gave a souvenir to flight captain Yateen Anant Pandit as well as the airline's ground handling and engineering team.
