ISRO to integrate the spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 with Launch Vehicle Mark-III (LVM3)

ISRO, which plans to launch the Chandrayaan-3 moon mission in July, has connected the spacecraft with the launch vehicle – Launch Vehicle Mark-III (LVM3).

ISRO tweeted on July 5: "Today, at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, the encapsulated assembly containing Chandrayaan-3 is mated with LVM3." The launch date has yet to be declared by ISRO. The Chandrayaan-3, on the other hand, will launch between July 12 and July 19. ISRO Chairman S. Somanath has stated that the space agency will launch the mission as soon as feasible.

Chandrayaan-3 is India's third moon mission and a follow-up to Chandrayaan-2, with the goal of demonstrating end-to-end capabilities in safe lunar landing and wandering. It is made up of an indigenous lander module (LM), a propulsion module (PM), and a rover, and its goal is to develop and demonstrate new technologies needed for interplanetary missions.

According to ISRO, the lander would be able to gently land at a specific lunar spot and deploy the rover, which will do in-situ chemical analysis of the lunar surface while moving. The Lander and Rover are equipped with research payloads to conduct experiments on the lunar surface. The primary mission of PM is to transport the LM from launch vehicle injection to the final lunar 100-km circular polar orbit, where it is separated from PM. Aside from that, the Propulsion Module carries one scientific payload that will be operated when the Lander Module is separated.

The orbital lifting will occur after its launch in mid-July, as it did with India's last moon mission, Chandrayaan-2. Before landing on the moon, the lander and orbiter will circle it. Mr. Somanath previously stated that ISRO had increased the lander's fuel capacity, installed additional technology, and fortified it. Chandrayaan-3 will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, landing at the same location.
