NewsSelect train stations will now be able to get and receive pre-ordered meals thanks to a partnership between the Indian train Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and the food delivery service Swiggy.
The startup will serve IRCTC consumers at four train stations in the beginning: Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam. Notably, when the first phase is over, the services will be extended to further stations.
Through the IRCTC's e-catering service, travellers will be able to place advance food orders thanks to the cooperation with Swiggy. This development is a part of IRCTC's larger plan to work with top meal delivery companies to expand and enhance its catering offerings.
In the past, Zomato and the ticketing platform collaborated to provide services to travellers at a number of different stations.
Passengers only need to choose a restaurant and their meals, submit their PNR on the IRCTC e-catering portal, and then use this service. Order scheduling flexibility and the choice of online or cash on delivery payment methods are provided by the platform.
Following that, the ordered meals will be brought right to the customers' seats, guaranteeing a smooth and convenient dining experience while travelling.
