NewsInternational cricket returned to Jammu after 35 years at the M A Stadium. The last international cricket match between India and New Zealand was held in Jammu on December 19, 1988, one year prior to the outbreak of violence in Jammu & Kashmir.
Approximately one hundred cricket superstars from all over the world reignited the cricket craze on Monday night at the T20 Legends League in Jammu, the winter capital of the Union Territory, while also sending a message of peace.
Four games are planned to be played on November 27, 29, 30, and December 1, respectively. The first game was already held on Monday at 7 p.m. and featured the Australian cricket player Aaron Finch-led Southern Superstars taking on the Manipal Tigers headed by Harbhajan Singh. The next three games at the same location are Bhilwara Kings vs. Southern Superstars, India Capitals vs. Gujarat Gaints, and Bhilwara Kings vs. Urbanrisers Hyderabad on November 29, 30, and December 1.
Co-founder and CEO of Legends League Cricket, Raman Raheja claimed that Jammu and Kashmir was at the top of their list from the start, with the goal of holding the league matches mostly in smaller towns and places that have been denied the opportunity to play international cricket. Furthermore, he said, the UT administration quickly consented to provide the facilities needed for the event.
