India successfully conducted the training launch of short-range ballistic missile ‘Agni-1 from APJ Abdul Kalam Island on December 7

According to a defence official, India successfully launched the short-range ballistic missile "Agni-1" for training from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, off the coast of Odisha, on December 7.

"The Agni-1 missile system has a track record of extreme accuracy. All operational and technical parameters were successfully checked during the user training launch, which was conducted under the Strategic Forces Command's auspices, the official stated.

According to the source, data from many tracking systems, including telemetry, radar, and electro-optical devices, was used to authenticate Thursday's performance.

These systems covered the whole trajectory and were positioned at various points along the flight path, including two ships in the terminal that were downrange.

On June 1st, the missile was successfully tested from the same base. India successfully tested "Agni Prime," a new class of ballistic missile, off the coast of Odisha in October of last year.

India's primary nuclear delivery system consists of the Agni family of missiles.
