NewsBy the end of February, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) hopes to have opened 100 parks at once—possibly even prior to the general election notice being announced. In order to do this, the GVMC has located appropriate sites around the city, each with an area of one acre and above. As a result, as of Monday, 132 locations that might make good parks have been determined. These are all voids of land. The majority of the land has been found in the city's suburbs, such as Madhurawada, Gopalapatnam, and Gajuwaka, as there isn't any suitable unoccupied property larger than an acre inside the inner city boundaries. Approximately ₹50 crore would be required as a minimum investment to create each of these 100 parks.
In order to build these parks, the company is also requesting financial support from sectors engaged in corporate social responsibility. The company is prepared to use its general finances to improve the parks if necessary. Three theme parks have been created in GVMC Zone-2 alone, utilising around ₹6 crore in general money from the corporation.
