Greater Chennai Corporation will deploy a new design for road medians with brilliant flowers, vegetation, and street furniture

 As part of the beautifying effort ahead of the Asian Championship Trophy, the Greater Chennai Corporation will deploy a new design for road medians, complete with brilliant flowers, vegetation, and street furniture. According to Corporation authorities, the new design, which includes flowering plants and greenery on top of iron and steel arches, would be installed first in the regions surrounding the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium, including Egmore High Road, Pantheon Road, Montieth Road, and Ethiraj Salai. "The new design will be implemented in other zones based on feedback from residents," stated a Corporation official.

Workers from the corporation have begun erecting iron and steel arches for flowering plants on the medians of Egmore High Road. The arches were completed on Sunday by workmen. According to officials, the flora around the highways is likely to grow as a result of this.

G.V. Nagavalli Prabhakaran, Ward 88 councillor and District Organiser, Environment Wing, Chennai East District DMK, said the effort was based on a novel concept that would provide an appealing and beautiful appearance. "Aerial views of our roadways should be vivid. This vegetation improvement must be carried out in all wards. "We can easily maintain it with drip irrigation," Ms. Nagavalli explained.
