The Flipkart Tourism Challenge has been launched by Flipkart Ventures, the investment division of the massive e-commerce company Flipkart, in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
Launched as part of the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge and under the Government of India's Startup India program, the initiative aims to accelerate tech-led innovations in India's travel and tourist industry.
Startups and Indian companies recognized by DPIIT are encouraged to submit solutions that improve the traveler experience through this challenge. These solutions should include ideas for discovery, personalization, immersive previews, artificial intelligence-powered affordability tools, and technology-enabled experiences on the ground.
The program's goal is to promote the creation of resources that increase travel's accessibility and appeal to a wide spectrum of customers, particularly in a market as diverse as India.
Applications are being accepted until May 5, 2025. Along with a possible spot in Flipkart Leap Ahead, the company's accelerator program that provides up to $500,000 in seed capital, the top winner will also receive Rs 2.5 lakh in cash and guidance from Flipkart leadership.
Access to a larger network of venture funders, the chance to trial solutions with Flipkart Group companies, and training created by Bain & Company are all included in the program. In addition to receiving a reward of Rs 1 lakh, the runner-up will also get help for capability building and strategic mentoring.
