According to Prof. Mukul Sharad Sutaone, the director of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A), the environment is one of the most crucial resources for our life on Earth since it sustains us and aids in our survival. He said that without soil, water, and air, life is impossible. Prof. Sutaone gave a speech during the opening ceremony of the week-long Environment Week event, which got underway on Thursday at the institute's Jhalwa campus.
The ecological web is a network of relationships that includes all the elements of the environment, according to the director. The IIIT-A fraternity decided to utilise their air conditioners at 24°C on the opening day of Environment Week. We can all conserve power and help the school become greener by setting the thermostat to an energy-efficient level, he added.
In the administration block auditorium, a special recognition event for canteen proprietors on campus was also held in the evening. Prof. Sutaone honoured Sajjan Lal Gupta, Rishabh Jaiswal, and Suraj Singh for their efforts to incorporate sustainable practises into their businesses. According to the IIIT-A director, their decision to use eco-friendly materials indicates their commitment to environmental stewardship and sets a motivating example for others to follow.
A plantation drive was also conducted in the evening, during which a range of helpful plants, such as Tulsi, geloi, ashwagandha, aloe vera, and mint, were planted. The campaign to plant trees started from the campus nursery area and the director's home, signifying the organization's dedication to preserving the environment.
