NewsVakul Jindal, the superintendent of police for the Bapatla District, claimed that the Disha app is like a strong weapon that can be utilised to safeguard women in dire situations. In a news conference held on Thursday in Bapatla, he stated that as part of a massive effort on June 14 and 15, the whole Police Department worked hard to raise awareness of the Disha SOS smartphone application throughout the area. In order to urge women to download the app and register themselves, the police officers, employees and ward/secretariat women police of each police station in the Bapatla district visited the villages, bus stops, railway stations, significant junctions, colleges, schools and factories that were under their purview.
According to Mr. Jindal, more than 12,000 individuals downloaded the app during the push, placing the Bapatla district in second place overall in the State. Because it guarantees prompt police assistance in emergencies, the app is helpful to everyone, not only women. People may send a message to the closest police station through the location control room by just tapping the SOS button on the app or shaking their phone, Mr. Jindal added, for a quick response from the police.
