Delhi Government to relaunch free coaching scheme for students to prepare for competitive exams

The Delhi Government is set to relaunch its free coaching scheme for students from the SC, ST, OBC and EWS categories to prepare for competitive exams like IIT-JEE, NEET, UPSC and others. Following a dispute between the government and the coaching centres empanelled under the scheme over funding, it was discontinued for more than a year.

Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratiba Vikas Yojana was launched in 2018 by the Social Welfare Department, under which the government had tied up with 46 private institutions. In the past year, however, coaching centres had claimed non-payment of funds by the government and many had stopped classes.
