Chennai Metros phase 2 project; In Chennai, elevated and underground stops will get platform screen doors

Platform screen doors (PSD) will be installed by Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Company Ltd. as part of Chennai Metro Rail's Phase 2 project. When these doors are placed at the platform levels of stations, commuters are safer because they are prevented from crossing tracks.

These protective doors will be put in both elevated and underground stations of the city's mass rapid transit system for the first time as part of the 61,843 crore Phase 2 project. According to a press release, CMRL granted this contract at a cost of Rs. 100 crore.
