According to photographs made public by the authorities, the Chennai airport's new integrated terminal building has a swanky appearance that pays homage to Tamil culture. The new facility, which cost 1,260 crore to build, will be opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

"The 2,20,972 square metre new integrated terminal structure at Chennai Airport is planned to accommodate the state of Tamil Nadu's increasing air traffic. It demonstrates the government's dedication to supplying travellers with top-notch infrastructure, the civil aviation ministry tweeted.

The airport's passenger capacity will rise from 23 million to 30 million annually with the completion of the T-2 (Phase-1) structure.

On Twitter, PM Modi posted images of the new terminal and stated that it would be a significant improvement to Chennai's facilities. He wrote, "It will improve connectivity and help the neighbourhood economy."
