BMTC issued an order eliminating the 1.5 times higher night fare in buses with effect from Wednesday

The 1.5 times higher night fee on buses will no longer be charged starting on Wednesday, according to a decision made by the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).

Between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., the BMTC used to levy a fee that is 1.5 times the standard rate for services inside the city. As stated in the order, "BMTC is operating night-service schedules for the benefit of commuters travelling late at night and early in the morning, and with a view to bring uniformity to passenger bus fares, BMTC has implemented ordinary service passenger bus fares for night-services with effect from September 6."
