NewsAccording to a press release made on Sunday, the Andhra Pradesh Red Cross announced that it has created an app that can be downloaded from the Google Play store which serves as a digital platform for volunteers to register, engage in the five main activities, and record their accomplishments and progress on each one. This is the nation's first app of its sort. By using the app to register, it will sign up one million Youth Red Cross (YRC) volunteers.
The Red Cross will provide first aid training to 3,000 factory workers in and around Visakhapatnam to safeguard the lives of five lakh workers in the event of an industrial accident. It is anticipated that 1.60 lakh NCC cadets in the State will enlist and receive training as YRC volunteers.
The Red Cross is pleading with all college and university students to use the AP RED CROSS app to register as YRC volunteers. According to the announcement, all of the aforementioned kids would get an SMS message and link on the cellphone phones they have on file with the Education Department. Students can use the app to register themselves in the general category if they do not receive the SMS message and link. All students and young people will be inspired to take part in the fundamental Red Cross activities of blood donation, basic first aid training, disaster management, the Climate Action Initiative, tree planting campaigns, and health camps for senior citizens and tribal members after signing up as YRC volunteers.
Every Republic Day, the Governor's Gold Medal will be given to the top three colleges in the district and the top three districts in the state, respectively, based on the evaluation.
