NewsAir Marshal R.G.K. Kapoor said on October 2 that an air show is to be staged in Prayagraj next week to celebrate the completion of the 91st year of the Indian Air Force will feature over 100 aircraft, including the Rafale fighter planes. Mr Kapoor, who is the Air Marshal of the Central Air Command's Headquarters, rode a bicycle rally to the Sangam region of Prayagraj to raise awareness of the air show scheduled for October 8.
According to Mr. Kapoor, Prayagraj was selected for the occasion for a number of reasons, one of which is the presence of the Central Air Command there. The Surya Kiran and Sarang teams will perform within a two to three-kilometre radius over the Sangam, according to the senior Air Force commander. For the air show, the Air Force has put up a control room close to Kila Ghat, and the district government is setting up seats for spectators. On October 8, the air show will begin at 2.30 p.m.
