Air Force is establishing an Air Force Centre of Excellence for Maritime Survival and Air Rescue at Kappil in Kollam

In the Kollam district's Kappil, the Air Force is setting up an Air Force Centre of Excellence for Maritime Survival and Air Rescue (AFCEMSAR). While visiting Thiruvananthapuram for the Southern Air Command (SAC) headquarters' Annual Commanders' Conference on Friday, Air Chief Marshal V.R. Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff, essentially launched the project.

The IAF's ground and flight crews would get training in air rescue and maritime survival from the planned AFCEMSAR, which will act as the nodal hub.

On Wednesday, the Commanders' Conference got underway, and it ended on Friday, February 9. Future conflicts, according to the Air Chief Marshal, would be hybrid in form and involve a wide range of conflicts in several fields.
