A state-of-the-art six-storeyed Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar Memorial Library will be inaugurated by Chief Minister in Madurai on July 15

On July 15, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will dedicate the state-of-the-art six-story Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar Memorial Library in Madurai. The library was built at a cost of Rs.114 crore. E.V. Velu, Minister of Public Works and Highways, observed the preparations for the library's opening on Tuesday. The completely air-conditioned library will have free Wi-Fi, a rooftop garden on the third floor, a 506-seat theatre, a rare book area, and a campus restaurant. The library's most notable features are a Tamil cultural art exhibit and a 3,000-square-foot atrium.

Mr. Velu also visited the continuing building of the permanent gallery, which is being built near Alanganallur to perform jallikattu. The Minister stated that 35% of the work on the great arena with contemporary amenities to conduct jallikattu, the traditional bull-taming sport, had been done at the foothills of Vaithumalai at Keelakarai near Alanganallur, and that the building work was scheduled to be completed in December. The huge venue will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister, he added.

The jallikattu stadium is being built on a 66-acre plot of land at a cost of Rs 44 crore. As part of the project, the building of a 77,683-square-foot stadium was also underway. The main athletic arena, Vaadivaasal, administrative office, specific area for bull tamers and bulls to undergo medical examinations and a health facility, a registration centre for bulls, bull tamer changing rooms, cloakroom, museum, gallery, and dormitories are all part of the project. Stormwater drains, fountains, artificial turf, and a 50,000-litre overhead water tank will be installed in the sports stadium.

The Minister stated that the road leading to the venue will be expanded since it was small. A draught plan has been produced at a cost of Rs. 22 crore, and the tender procedure will commence soon. During the inspection, Collector M.S. Sangeetha, District Revenue Officer R. Sakthivel, and others were present.
