A new initiative by Haryana Police; the status updates of FIR can be sent in Hindi to the registered mobile numbers of the complainants via SMS

First Information Reports (FIRs) status updates will henceforth be sent in Hindi by SMS to registered cellphone numbers of complainants, according to a new effort by the Haryana Police. According to Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Thursday, the messages include a link to allow users to download the FIRs.

After presiding over a meeting of the State Apex Committee for the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) in Chandigarh, Kaushal spoke with the media. Through the efficient use of information and communication technology (ICT), the CCTNS Haryana project seeks to increase user friendliness, encourage openness in police operations, and improve the delivery of services that are centred on the needs of citizens.

As per a government spokesperson, "The Central Equipment Identity Register's (CEIR) integration with the CCTNS has been completed successfully. Citizens can ask for the disabling or unblocking of devices online thanks to this integration. Through the Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), the CCTNS has also successfully integrated with a number of other agencies, including health, jails, prisons, forensic science laboratories, prosecution, and courts. The criminal justice system is further strengthened by this accomplishment, which fosters smooth information exchange and collaboration between various agencies.
