NewsOn May 26, the 80-kilometer section of the Mumbai Nagpur Samruddhi Mahamarg will be opened by the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is constructing the motorway.
According to Radheshyam Mopalwar, managing director of MSRDC, the section from Shirdi to Bharvir, which is closer to Nashik, would be opened on May 26. By year's end, he said, the entire route will be open.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the 520-kilometer section between Nagpur and Shirdi on December 11, 2022. The road between Igatpuri and Thane would be unfinished after the opening of the Shirdi and Bharvir portions. Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, Washim, Buldhana, Aurangabad, Jalna, Ahmednagar, Nashik, and Thane are among the 10 Maharashtra districts that the route traverses or links. Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy CM, came up with this idea while he served as the CM from 2014 to 2019.
