36 bus stops across Mumbai will be renovated; features QR code that provides information on nearby amenities like cafes, public restrooms, free internet

36 bus stations in Mumbai that have been encroached upon by auto rickshaws, taxi parking lots, and hawkers will shortly be cleaned up and renovated by the BrihanMumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST). The majority of these bus stops are found in South Mumbai, Dadar, Bandra, and Wadala.

On Wednesday, BEST General Manager Lokesh Chandra stated that they want to improve the aesthetics of these bus stops and have begun working with organisations like the police and the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation to clear encroachments from the area.

The official said that the bus stops near the railway stations should be kept clear of encroachment so that travellers on trains may easily use the BEST bus service for last-mile connection.

In order to give them a luxurious appearance, The BEST intends to enhance and upgrade the aesthetics of bus stations around Mumbai. The BEST had renovated the National Sports Club of India bus stop in Worli as part of a trial project.

The bus stop features a QR code that provides information on amenities like mall restrooms, cafes, and public restrooms that are close. It also boasts transparent fibre glass buildings, a library, and free internet, among other amenities.
