34th national basketball championship will be held in Vishakapatanam from October 13

The city will host the 34th national basketball tournament starting on October 13, according to P.S. Avadhani, chairman of Bharateeya Vidya Kendram (BVK), who made the announcement here on Wednesday. In an interview with reporters, Prof. Avadhani stated that the tournament, which is being hosted in association with Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan (Delhi), would take place in three categories: under-14, 17, and 19 boys and girls.

He said that four playgrounds—AU Grounds, Seethammadhara Sri Prakash School, Madhurawada Chandrampalem ZP School, and Police Barracks—have been selected for the tournament.The vice-chancellor of Andhra University, P.V.G.D. Prasad Reddy, and Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao would be the principal guests at the inaugural event on the AU premises, he continued.

The BVK and Sri Krishna Vidya Mandir establishments in the city will host the participants. It is anticipated that over 500 participants from 42 teams from various regions would compete. The Games Federation of India offers contests that the winners of these events can enter.
