NewsThe Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation's retail division, Poompuhar, has arranged a kolu doll display and sale at its Coimbatore location. The dolls from four artists are on display. According to C. Ronald Selvestin, manager of Poompuhar, there are over thirty new goods this year. The models on Chandrayaan III were an enormous success. According to him, customers desire complete sets that allow them to present many stories in tiny places, like the entire Ramayana on a single board.
There are dolls on exhibit made of terracotta, marble, papier mache, clay, and wood. Sales of ₹80 lakhs are the goal, according to Mr. Selvestin. Coimbatore exceeded the ₹60 lakh objective set for the previous year. He noted that the substantial increase in raw material prices for the artists is the reason the cost of the dolls has gone up this year. Dolls from Puducherry, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh are also included. A variety of return gifts are also available at the exhibition.
