Second charter flight under Operation Ajay to repatriate Indian citizens stranded in Israel landed in New Delhi on Saturday morning

NewsIndia began "Operation Ajay," on October 11, which aims to rescue its countrymen who are stuck in Israel.Under "Operation Ajay," the second charter aircraft to return Indian nationals who were left behind in Israel due to the current conflict touched down in New Delhi on Saturday morning from Tel Aviv. The second flight brought in 235 Indian people in all, including two newborns.
In the first repatriation exercise conducted as part of "Operation Ajay," 212 Indians were airlifted out of Israel. On Thursday night, the inaugural flight departed from Israel's Ben Gurion airport and arrived in New Delhi early on Friday morning. The passengers were apparently selected in a "first come, first served" manner.
The government began "Operation Ajay," on October 11 in a situation wherein the other airlines, including Air India, ceased all commercial flights to and from Israel on October 7, the day the war broke out. The Indians will be returned on specially scheduled aircraft as part of this operation. If necessary, the Indian Navy ships are also expected to be sent.
