Pudukottai Vaasikirathu (Pudukottai is Reading) event on Thursday at Town Hall in Pudukottai attracted students, social group and general public alike

NewsOn Thursday, students from schools and colleges, women's self-help groups, and members of the general public throughout the district joyfully participated in an hour-long 'Pudukottai Vaasikirathu' (Pudukottai is Reading) event. Collector I. S. Mercy Ramya kicked off the event by reading a novel with a group of school pupils. The event was created to encourage people to read and to raise knowledge about the next Book Fair, which will be hosted in Pudukottai Town Hall from 28 to August 6. The Pudukottai district government and the Tamil Nadu Science Movement will hold the sixth 10-day book expo in Pudukottai.
According to an official announcement, the event was held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. throughout the district, with around 3 lakh schoolchildren and members of the general public participating and reading books. The Book Fair will have more than 100 stalls with thousands of books on diverse themes on exhibit and for sale. During the book fair, professionals and resource individuals will give speeches on various themes.
Collector Mercy Ramya urged the general population to make reading a habit because it would help them elevate their thoughts, acquire confidence, and keep up with global happenings.
