Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation will launch 40 non-A/C sleeper buses and 100 new Sarige variants on October 7

NewsThe Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, on October 7, will introduce 40 non-A/C sleeper buses and 100 new Sarige variants to boost its fleet. According to KSRTC officials, the new buses will be launched by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on the great steps of the Vidhana Soudha. The 'Pallakki' sleeper bus will run inter-city and long-distance routes.
Following the commencement of the Karnataka government's Shakti initiative, which allows women to travel for free in state-run road transport companies (RTCs), the four corporations (KSRTC, BMTC, NWKRTC, and KKRTC) intend to purchase 1,894 additional buses this year. Currently, the four RTCs operate 23,989 buses across the state, covering 65.02 lakh km every day on average.
