First phase for accepting applications for Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam' will take place from July 24 to August 4 in Chennai

NewsAccording to a statement, the district government would host camps at Public Distribution Service (PDS) facilities to accept applications for Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam'. The Greater Chennai Corporation has begun distributing biometric devices to the city's regional deputy commissioner offices to carry out the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam (women's entitlement plan). A total of 1,800 biometric machines will be distributed to regional deputy commissioner offices.
Registration will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on all days, including Sundays. The first phase will take place from July 24 to August 4 at 253 PDS facilities inside the Corporation's boundaries, 206 in gramme panchayat regions, and 43 stores in the Valparai Municipality.
The second camp will be held from August 5 to 16 in 253 locations within the Corporation limit, 206 in all town panchayats, and 103 in all municipal areas except Valparai, according to a press release. Notice boards outside the different locations will show information about the house, streets, and wards linked with each shop.
A PDS employee will hand out applications and tokens to each family at their door, marking the day and time of each camp four days before the event. At the stated date and time, the ladies of the household must submit the completed application together with the Aadhaar card, ration card, e-bill receipt, and bank passbook. The announcement indicated that income and other property documentation will not be required.
