Chief Minister N. Rangasamy inaugurated the Mera Bill Mera Adhikar (MBMA) scheme in Puducherry on Friday

NewsIn the Union Territory of Puducherry, the 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikar' (MBMA) initiative was launched on Friday by the chief minister, N. Rangasamy. One of the few States and Union Territories where the Centre is testing this programme is Puducherry. The programme is designed to encourage customers to ask vendors for legitimate invoices. A few invoices would be chosen at random at the end of each month for monetary prizes. The programme will apply to all bills sent to customers by providers that have registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Tamil-language promotional materials for the tax incentive programme were issued by the chief minister. 'Enathu Bill Enathu Urumai' pamphlets were circulated, advertising prizes and stressing the value of getting a bill for all transactions.
Minister for Agriculture C. Djeacoumar, Minister for Civil Supplies A. K. Sai J. Saravanan Kumar and Development Commissioner-cum Finance Secretary P. Jawahar were present at the launch.
