'Arogya Shanivara' launched in Udupi; to educate pupils about disease, health management, personal safety

NewsThe Department of School Education and Literacy in Udupi has launched 'Arogya Shanivara' (providing health and safety education on Saturday) to educate pupils about disease and health management, as well as personal safety.
Since June, students in all 1,098 schools in the district have been educated on the symptoms of various diseases and seasonal infections such as malaria and dengue; why and how they spread; when they occur; how to manage them; and precautionary measures to be taken to keep such diseases at bay. Furthermore, pupils are being educated on the prevention and management of cough, cold, and fever by physicians, qualified instructors, and health department personnel.
According to the DDPI, pupils are also being instructed on personal hygiene, first aid, and preserving cleanliness in homes and schools. According to him, the initiative was begun with the cooperation and supervision of H. Prasanna, Chief Executive Officer of Udupi Zilla Panchayat.
According to K. Ganapathi, Deputy Director of Public Instruction in Udupi, the sessions are held in schools on Saturdays. He said that the length of the sessions varies according to the topics."We have not set a time limit for educating the pupils, such as half an hour, an hour, or 15 minutes. The sessions will be held in government, government-aided private, and private schools until the end of this academic year, 1,098 schools have 1.61 lakh children who pass on the information they get to their family members."

He stated that many schools had LED displays. Arrangements have been prepared for the live transmission of expert lectures from the Resource Centre at the zilla panchayat's studio. This program's link is being shared with schools that do not have LED displays so that students may view it on laptops and desktops. Schools are also receiving recorded YouTube videos.
