Zomato unveils its 'Pure Veg Fleet' and 'Pure Veg Mode' to cater to India's significant vegetarian population

NewsZomato launched its "Pure Veg Fleet" and "Pure Veg Mode" today in an effort to serve the large vegetarian community in India. In a post on X, CEO Deepinder Goyal emphasised the distinct dietary choices of Indian vegetarians and their worries about food handling and preparation.
By guaranteeing that vegetarian orders are processed and delivered solely by a specialised fleet, the launch seeks to allay these worries by avoiding any confusion with non-vegetarian meals. The Zomato app's 'Pure Veg Mode' eliminates non-vegetarian eateries and only displays those that provide exclusively vegetarian fare.
To add to this functionality, the delivery trucks of the 'Pure Veg Fleet' use green boxes instead of the typical red ones while delivering these vegetarian orders. According to Goyal, the corporation guarantees that this fleet won't handle non-vegetarian food or visit non-vegetarian businesses.
The idea is a response to comments received from vegetarian clients who are especially worried about the handling and cooking of their meals.
