NewsThe Lake Front Park, being built by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority for close to 27 crore in the authorised buffer zone of the Hussainsagar lake, would have elevated walkways and a cantilever pier. The park, a recent addition to the lake's tourist circuit, is being built on a 10-acre parcel of property next to Jala Vihar, a well-known water park and meeting facility. According to a statement from the HMDA, it is a part of the "improvement and beautification around Hussainsagar" as per the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K. T. Rama Rao's directions.
The park has four elevated walkways, each 110 metres long, and a 15-meter cantilever jetty into the lake that doubles as a deck view. Additional features include a 690-meter-long boardwalk that connects all of the park's elements and a curving walkway with dimensions of 240 metres long by 2 metres wide, according to the statement. Pavilions, a promenade area next to the lake, the Panchatatva Walkway, a central route, and underpasses are other architectural features. According to the note, four lakh plants of various exotic types have been planted as part of the landscaping. The plants' name boards include bar codes, which is a first for HMDA. Twenty two trees, each 25 years old, that were moved from different locations for the convenience of various projects are also included in the lakefront park. Along with scented/aromatic and unusual species of saplings, these plants may drain water, provide shade, and ward against insects.
The park, after its opening, will be accessible to the public from 5.30 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. for an entrance fee of $10 for children, $50 for adults, and $100 a month for morning walkers.
