NewsChintapalli in the Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district is home to Andhra Pradesh's first agro-tourism facility, which is reason for celebration for travellers who like spending time in the lap of nature. Adjacent to a thick forest and surrounded by a wide variety of flora and fauna, the agro-tourism complex, located at an elevation of 839 metres above mean sea level, is an alcohol-free zone.
Under the direction of Pandurang Taware, regarded as the "father of agri-tourism" in India, the officials have constructed the agri-tourism module. In 2005, Mr. Taware introduced this idea to Maharashtra.
With an emphasis on high-altitude farming research, representatives from the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) in Chintapalli have stepped forward to explore the possibilities of agritourism here.
Tourists, with the assistance of RARS volunteers, visiting the agro-tourism site can have a technical tour of high-altitude farming operations. During their visit, they can participate in organic farming activities as well.
The RARS crew is now organising the tourists' lodging, meals, and other activities.
