Greater Chennai Corporation launched camps for registration of women for the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam in 98 wards

NewsThe Greater Chennai Corporation opened registration camps for the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam in 98 of the city's 200 wards on Monday. Approximately 60% of residents who got tokens at their door have enrolled for the initiative. Officials stated that eligible residents who did not register would have another opportunity later.
According to local officials, the number of registrations had reached 40,000 by 3 p.m. on Monday. By the evening, the figure had risen to 56,542. The number of registrations was significantly higher on the first day in wards such as Chintadripet. On the first day of camp, 150 women enrolled at a location on West Cooum River Road, according to Ward 62 Councillor Jagadeesan.
On the first day, 2,978 women enrolled in the Tiruvottiyur zone. Manali received 798 applications, Madhavaram received 2,080, Tondiarpet received 5,875, Royapuram received 3,462, Thiru Vi Ka Nagar received 4,944, Ambattur received 3,855, Anna Nagar received 4,366, Teynampet received 4,733, Valasaravakkam received 3,772, Alandur received 3,497, Adyar received 3,615, Perungudi received 3,267, and Sholinganallur received 2,732.
On Monday, Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena reviewed the camps in north Chennai. J. Radhakrishnan, Corporation Commissioner, and Sivaguru Prabakaran, Regional Deputy Commissioner (North), joined him.
