Food expo to be organised as part of Keraleeyam fest commencing on November 1 will treat citizens with flavours from across Kerala

At next month's Keraleeyam, city residents will be treated to an explosion of flavour. The culinary expo arranged as part of Keraleeyam, a week-long celebration of the State's achievements that will commence in the State capital on November 1, Kerala Piravi day, will feature flavours from around the state. Over the course of a week, the expo will have 11 food melas. The food melas will serve delicacies catering to a variety of palates, ranging from popular 'thattukada' tastes to five-star specialities.

The branded food festival in Kanakakkunnu will be one of the attractions, with visitors able to sample the State's famed cuisine. Street artworks will accompany a street food festival from AKG Centre to Spencer Junction and Spencer Junction to Vanross. Manaveeyam Veedhi provides a chance to become acquainted with some of the State's traditional cuisines. An exhibition of cooking equipment from the past will also be exhibited here. Food similar to that seen in five-star hotels will be provided at Central Stadium.

There will also be an ethnic food festival staged in collaboration with the Scheduled Tribe Development department, a Kudumbashree food fete, a milk and milk product and fish fete, a Cooperation department food fete, and a catering association food fete.

A pet food fiesta will provide food for one's pets and birds. At the Sooryakanthi exhibition grounds, a cooking contest and a conversation for vloggers will take held.

Prior to the culinary exhibition, a gathering of notable vloggers will be hosted. V. Sivankutty, Minister for General Education and head of the Keraleeyam welcoming committee, will open the gathering on Tuesday at 4.30 p.m. at Symphony Hall, Mascot Hotel. A.A. Rahim, MP, of Keraleeyam, and KTDC managing director Shikha Surendran, the committee convener, will be present.
