51st anniversary of the Thripunithura Kathakali Kendram will be celebrated at Kalikkotta Palace from October 13 to 15

NewsKalikkotta Palace will host a celebration of the Thripunithura Kathakali Kendram's 51st anniversary from October 13 to October 15. On the first day of the festival, "Nalacharitham Second Day" will be performed. Municipal chairwoman Rema Santhosh will preside. The annual celebration will be given a modern twist with the Kathakali adaptations of poet Kumaran Asan's Karuna, which will be performed at 2 p.m. on October 14, and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore's Shyama, which will be performed at the same time on October 15.
"Kirmeeravadham" (October 14) and "Balivadham" (October 15) are two other events that are scheduled. The concluding ceremony will be presided over by renowned percussionist Mattannur Sankarankutty, the Chairman of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, with K. Babu, MLA, serving as the master of ceremonies.
The Kathakali Kendram awards will be given out by drummer P.K. Sajeeven, Kathakali vocalist Kottakkal Santhosh Pisharody, Kathakali artist Kalamandalam Kesavadev, and green room performers Eroor Sasi and Eroor Surendran. Rajalakshmi Rajan of RLV College of Music and Fine Arts will get the Chamundi scholarship, which is intended for females studying Kathakali.
