NewsThe stage is being set for the formal inauguration of the Martyrs’ Memorial in the vicinity of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat on June 22. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will formally inaugurate the memorial on which the construction works are almost completed, and final touches are being given. Taken up at a cost of ₹177.5 crores, the memorial has 10,000 sq.ft hall for the display of photos of martyrs, two lahks sq. ft basement parking, a 500-capacity convention center, audiovisual theatre, a rooftop restaurant, and other features. Officials said it was the largest stainless steel seamless finish structure.
Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari reviewed the arrangements being made for the inaugural function.
A rally of over 5,000 performers from the 175-foot-tall Dr. B.R. Ambedkar monument to the memorial would take place prior to the memorial's official opening, and the Chief Minister would then speak to a crowd to celebrate the event. The Chief Secretary instructed the staff to make the required arrangements so that the dignitaries, who would attend the inaugural including Ministers and other elected representatives, would not experience any trouble.
The dais should be appropriately ornamented and steps should be made to ensure an uninterrupted power supply. She asked the officials to take all the measures to ensure that the inauguration of the memorial coinciding with the culmination of the 21-day celebrations of the State’s 10th formation day was organised on a grand scale. She urged the officials to take all necessary steps to ensure that the memorial's dedication coincided with the conclusion of the State's 10-year anniversary festivities, which lasted 21 days.
