Panchmahal district is one of Gujarat's tribal districts. Panchmahal is divided into seven talukas, the biggest of which is Godhra. Every year on August 9th, World Tribal Day is commemorated to promote awareness and safeguard the rights of the world's indigenous population. A demonstration is being held in Godhra, Panchmahal district, to commemorate the contributions of the tribal population to Indian culture and customs. The tribals attend the demonstration in large numbers, dressed in traditional attire and wearing pagadhi on their heads.
