Two young trekkers walking inside the Manchirevula Forest Trek Park have made a significant archaeological find of ancient rock paintings

An important archaeological discovery found by two young city hikers provides insight into the history of human presence in the Hyderabad area. As Omar Ali Khan and Rishabh Manda strolled through the Manchirevula Forest Trek Park, they noticed what appeared to be old rock drawings. This is a significant finding. This art may have originated in the Mesolithic era, according to preliminary investigation based on the surrounding environment. The paintings feature a geometric design, a fish, and three tortoises, all rendered in crimson colour, according to research leader M. A. Srinivasan, an assistant professor of history at Potti Sriramulu Telugu University.

Mr. Srinivasan was informed, "We have dated the site based on the findings of water bodies, which are the source of the images of tortoise shells, and fragments of quartzite tools." The historian estimates that the paintings are between 6,000 and 12,000 years old, based on the dating of the Mesolithic era, which spans from 10,000 to 4,000 BC. These drawings were discovered in a rock shelter that resembled a snake hood, suggesting that Mesolithic people lived there. Mr. Srinivasan claims that the paintings have endured the whims of nature, such as rain and sunshine, for a very long time since "it is not a cave, it is more like covered place."

"Creating a trail is the greatest way to guarantee that the place endures. Build a grill-equipped fence so that people may observe from a distance. Fortunately, since it is a protected forest, there is little risk of invasion," Mr. Srinivasan stated.
